Aquabotix is proud to support education and our local community. We created our underwater viewing products because we are fascinated by the worlds beneath the waves. This event was a wonderful day to share our passion for robotics and the water with future engineers.
Aquabotix recently participated in an underwater event with the Boy Scouts at the YMCA in Fall River, MA. Two of our engineers, Courtney and Jason, volunteered to work with the scouts. Courtney presented to the children about ROVs and Jason presented about the engineering design process. Then the boy scouts broke into teams and designed their own ROVs using an ROV in a bag kit. Their ROVs would be challenged to accomplish some basic tasks in a contest later that day. They tested and redesigned their ROVs before the contest. During the testing and contest, Jason had an Aquabotix HydroView in the pool for the boy scouts to drive. The boys did great with their designs and really enjoyed the chance to drive a professional grade ROV.
