Aquabotix’s President, Durval Tavares, recently traveled to Tennessee to accompany the HydroView Pro on a water tank inspection. HydroView was called in for this opportunity because the tank inspector is looking at alternate ROVs to replace their current ROV fleet. The inspector was attracted to HydroView because it offers improved functionality at a more affordable price point than their current ROV.
Especially appealing was HydroView’s ability to be driven with a laptop. This means that the inspector only needed to climb the tower one time – instead of TWO. With their current ROV, the inspector climbs up to put the ROV in the water, then climbs back down to drive the unit from their truck. Then they have to climb back up the tower to retrieve the unit and back down again.
With HydroView, the inspector climbed once and then drove the HydroView from the top of the tower, recording the entire inspection in full HD. After the inspection was completed, the inspector just climbed back down and downloaded the video for future reporting. Climbing the tower once saves a huge amount of time and effort.
